A Watson Bass gives you a new option to traditional neck / body fixing methods: A DEEP SET NECK.
My basses have a huge 12” of the neck inside the body cavity, enabling increased tone transference between the two main parts of the guitar. This means a perfected sound quality. It effectively lengthens the neck deeper into the guitar body, and allows the neck to transfer its sound energy into the thickest part of the guitar. The strings and their saddles are actually attached to only one piece of wood – the neck. As a result you’ll get increased tone transfer and sustain!
Deep Set Neck
This is no conventional bridge design. Each string rests in its own individual saddle, eliminating all cross resonance between strings. Each saddle is rebated into the body for optimum string height and stability and, unlike normal bridges, each string can be adjusted for height and intonation. Both ends of the string are attached to the “deep set neck” so every note has a direct route into the main mass of the guitar allowing for a fuller and richer sound with increased sustain. Of course all hum and interference has been grounded individually from each saddle, and eliminated from your sound.
The unique Watson design is Individually hand cut and inlayed by hand with mother of pearl and abalone shell.
The Hardwood Bindings shown here not only enhance the style of the guitar and the appearance of the neck, they make it play better too! It's natural for the neck wood to move in different environments and changes of humidity. On mass produced basses this causes the fret barbs to protrude slightly giving the neck a rough feel when playing. These bindings will make sure that these sharp ends won’t get in the way of your playing in any condition.
