MIDI TEAK

 

This handmade bass guitar has been carefully designed and built as a unique instrument, bringing together natural timbers, modern materials and a versatile electronic set up.

The aim was to create an instrument that has its own distinctive character, visually but also offers a highly playable and responsive experience.

 

The ash body features beautiful teak veneers front and back complemented by a laminated Maple and Sapele neck.  A "Rocklite" fingerboard features with a 20" radius and 24 stainless steel frets. Mother-of-pearl position markers add a subtle touch of elegance.

 

The bass is fitted with individual string saddles for precise adjustment and 20mm string spacing. 

Custom single coil pick ups are finished with matching burr ash covers, with the same burr ash carried through to the matching cavity cover.

 

Adding another dimension to the instrument is the ROLAND GK-B63 divided MIDI pick up. This allows each string to be individually detected for use with compatible MIDI equipment and guitar - synth systems, which give the bass the ability to go beyond its traditional role and explore a much wider range of sounds and textures.

 

The burr ash and ebony veneered headstock features carefully detailed mother-of-pearl and abalone inlays, complemented by high-quality tuners and black hardware.

 

The entire instrument is finished in satin, chosen to retain a natural feel and allow the character, figuring and colour of the woods to remain prominent

 

The result is a truly individual handmade bass that combines traditional craftsmanship, distinctive natural woods and modern electronic versatility.
